Tolerances for Extruded Products
Typically "wider" tolerances are given for extruded parts compared to molded parts.
Understanding what dimensions are most important will help us quote and produce the best parts for you. "Calling out" tight tolerances on ONLY the most important dimension will allow S&H to quote you the best price.
OTHER CONCERNS: Drawing are typically drawn with perfect circles and shapes. Finished product is sometimes slightly distored, Again it is important to communicate your exact needs. Packaging and shipping can also distort the parts. When tight tolerances are required, it is important that we agree on how the part will be measured.
i.e "go-no-go" on a mating part of yours, dial calipers, optical comparitor, loose or supported.

The following Tolerances appll to most common dimensions, such as, O.D. - outside diameters, I.D. - inside diameters, wall thickness, width, height, and general cross sections on extruded parts.
Tolerances on dimensions over 4" (100mm) need to be agreed to.
